Relational Horsemanship, Rooted in Ubuntu

Often we get overwhelmed by time constraints, lack of knowledge, conflicting opinions, and industry norms. Perhaps we have to contend with physical limitations within ourselves. Don’t forget about the physical limitations that may be present for the horse as well.

In todays world of intense public scrutiny, it seems more and more “average or normal” people have less and less confidence. We all see the videos of incredible performances. Maybe a horse performing at liberty. Maybe a horse in an obstacle course navigating a challenging situation.

It isn’t wrong to aspire to be in that situation. To want a relationship like that with our own horse. But how do we do it? How do we get our horse to work with us in such magnificent ways? Where do we even start…

Are you new to horses or coming back to them after a long absence? Does your horse display nervousness or stubbornness when asked to do certain things? If you or your horse need some training in ground work, riding, or trailer loading, I may be able to help.

Connection before Correction

Intent is the key to a lifetime of safe and relaxed experiences for you and your horse. As a confidence coach, I can come to you for a one time training session or help you over time to enhance the way that you connect and guide your horse.

I specialize in confidence coaching for both horse and rider. Whether you just want a coach to teach you the basics of horse care and maintenance, or you have a particular problem area on the ground or in the saddle that you want to master; I can help you and your horse feel comfortable and confident in a variety of situations.

Focus is placed on creating a safe environment where understanding and boundaries can be established. Learning how to work through difficulties with intent will prove beneficial with every interaction you will ever have with a horse. Often, these principles can carry over to other aspects of your life.

Call, text, or message me for more information. Sessions are $80 per hour and typically last an hour and a half. A mileage charge may be necessary if you are outside of my service area.

At this time, you do need access to a horse you own or have permission to use. I do not have lesson horses I can provide.
